Lemon is highly prized for its high anti-bacterial properties. On skin and hair it can be used for its cleansing effect, as well as for treating cuts and boils. There are references to lemon going back to the first century B.C. Lemon Oil is believed to have been used by the Ancient Egyptians to detoxify the body. Lemon trees are native to Asia but grow wild in the Mediterranean, to a height of about 6 metres, and are cultivated in many other countries around the world.

This versatile oil works in different areas of your everyday life, from household cleaning to freshening the air. Refreshing and invigorating, Lemon Essential Oil is often used in aromatherapy to leave you feeling energised. It is also known to be used to cover bad and strong odours, especially in the kitchen.

Lemon Essential Oil can also be used in combination to your regular shampoo for shiny and healthy looking hair. Lemon Oil is often used in hair care products for those with oily hair as it has balancing properties.
Add a couple of drops of Lemon to your shampoo or conditioner for a zesty and refreshing boost when you shower or try creating an intensive hair mask. We suggest a few drops of essential oil in Jojoba Oil. Massage the blend into the scalp and leave it on for 1-2 hours before washing your hair.
Top tip – to emulsify the oil and to help it rinse out easier, we suggest you begin to lather your hair with shampoo before adding water. You may need to wash your hair twice to ensure all the oil is removed.
Aromatherapy: Add a few drops to your oil burner or diffuser and enjoy the invigorating and refreshing aroma of Lemon.
Blends well with: Lemon generally blends well with other citrus and floral oils. Chamomile, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lime, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Pine, Rosemary, Sandalwood.
Do not use undiluted on the skin. Dilute at a percentage of 1% of the finished blend; 1ml of essential oil (approx. 20 drops) to 100ml of carrier oil. You can use up to 3% dilution for use on your body or in the bath.

Directions:
Dilute 5 drops of essential oil 10ml of carrier oil for massage. Add 5-8 drops for the bath. Add 5-7 drops mixed with water in an oil burner or diffuser.
